The Marangu Route, also known as the Coca-Cola Route, is the most popular trail for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Transfer to Moshi Town Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be met by an Impala Explorer representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. After check-in, you’ll receive a full briefing about your upcoming Kilimanjaro trek. Your mountain guide will conduct a gear check to ensure you're ready. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore Moshi.

After breakfast, your Impala Explorer Kilimanjaro tour officially begins. You'll be driven to Marangu Gate for registration with TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks Authority). The climb starts through the lush rainforest, with chances to see Colobus monkeys and tropical birds.
Enjoy a packed lunch en route. By late afternoon, you’ll reach Mandara Hut, where your porters will have hot meals and accommodation ready.

Today's trail takes you into the alpine desert zone. You’ll cross the “saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The path is dry and dusty but offers panoramic views. Kibo Hut will be your base for the night before the summit attempt.

After an early dinner, your Impala Explorer mountain guide will brief you for the midnight summit attempt. Get to bed early—tomorrow is summit day!

Wake up at 11:30 PM for tea and biscuits before beginning the steep and challenging summit push. You’ll reach Gillman’s Point (5681m) by sunrise, and then continue to the Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa! After celebrating at the top, descend to Kibo Hut for lunch and continue down to Horombo Hut for your final overnight stay on the mountain.

Enjoy a hot breakfast and a special farewell celebration with your trekking crew. You’ll descend for about 6 hours back to Marangu Gate, where you will receive your Kilimanjaro climbing certificate:
