11 Days Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday
11 Days Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday with Impala explorer This one of safari that takes you to the national parks in the North of Tanzania as well taking you to Zanzibar Island for a relaxing beach holiday. The safari includes the visit to the most famous wildlife areas including the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, and the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. Apart from the animals and birds that you enjoy seeing, we have also included a visit to a Masai village in the Ngorongoro Conservation area which always excites all, as you get to learn about the unique cultures and traditions of the African people.
Our safari vehicles with the hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are an extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to the window seat. Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with the base office.
Day 1. Arrival day, Tanzania
Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). There will be a private transfer from the Airport to Arusha at Mount Meru hotel.
We stay at Mount Meru Hotel, which is a beautiful hotel located on the slope of Mount Meru and is a perfect place to prepare for your safari.
Day 2. Tarangire National Park:
Today we drive to Tarangire National Park, for excellent game viewing. Tarangire is a small park that offers some excellent sights. Generally, in the dry seasons, Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water. We spend the night in our lodge beautifully set outside the park with stunning views and a unique atmosphere. In the late afternoon, we make a short journey from the park to our special lodge.
Day 3. Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari.
We head towards the Serengeti National Park. At Naabi gate we will stop for lunch, after lunch, we drive into the Serengeti itself and the rest of the afternoon is spent game viewing in the vast plains that are broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. In December, February and March we will normally meet the migration with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffes, buffalo, and elephants, and many large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. We return to our special tented camp for the night.
Day 4. Serengeti National Park Hot Air Balloon Safari.
Serengeti Balloon Safari is probably the most beautiful balloon flight in the world and the ultimate Safari Experience which makes you enjoy the most beautiful migration of wildebeests through the endless plain of Serengeti.
5:00 am, Serengeti Balloon Safaris will collect you from your central Serengeti lodge or camp, and transfer you by Landcruser to our launch site near Masai Kopjes. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon.3
at dawn we take off, rising as the sun rises and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take us.
Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. After breakfast, you are taken to the rendezvous point to meet with your driver-guide and continue with your full-day game drives.
Day 5. Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari.
We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. We journey from the wide-open plains to the kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top, we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions, and if you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of the interesting birdlife, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich. We return to our special lodge for the night.
Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater
We start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a Conservation Area, not a National Park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. Finally, we descend into the crater. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and leopards (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see in here is a giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steeps sides of the crater. In the late afternoon, we travel just outside of the Crater to our special tented camp.
Day 7. Lake Manyara National Park
Today we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives. This is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but still offers a rewarding and diverse safari experience. The lakeshore at Manyara teems with birdlife, and while you are looking for the birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions. There are a surprising number of other large mammals and the striking cliffs on the Rift escarpment form a dramatic backdrop. In the late afternoon, we make a short journey from the park to Arusha.
Day 8. Fly to Zanzibar
Arrive anytime in Zanzibar you will meet us at the airport and pick up you with a private transfer to Nungwi at Pongwe Beach Hotel.

HISTORICAL STONE-TOWN TOUR
Stone Town is one of the oldest living Swahili towns in East Africa. It’s unique winding, narrow streets are adorned with (some crumbling) beautiful buildings. Established by Arab slave and spice traders in the early 19th century, Stone Town is the cultural heart of Zanzibar.
This two hour tour commences with a visit to Zanzibar’s colorful market. Alive with the buzz of locals bartering fresh vegetables and baskets of tropical fruit, among the heady smell of Jack fruit (and many other exotic fruits) we continue on to the site of the Anglican Cathedral built in 1874 by the British. The cathedral signifies a potent time in Zanzibar’s history and stands on the sight of a past slave market, its high altar standing on the exact site of the whipping post. Slavery was abolished in 1873 through a decree passed by the then current Sultan of Zanzibar.
From here we visit the residence of the late Sultans of Zanzibar, Tippu Tip House, Africa House (the former British Club), the Old Fort, Peoples Garden, House of Wonders (Beit-El-Ajaib)and the old Khoja Shia Itnashari Dispensary, full of intrigue and vivid history from a bygone era. The Zanzibar beach holiday Tour ends with a stroll through the narrow streets of the old stone town, the heart of Zanzibar’s vivacious history.
